The Cyprus Picture Log - Updated Slowly. [Pictures by Shay & me]
This is a log in progress. We went to Cyprus on the 22nd of October, 2013, and stayed til the 30th. Together, we took around 900 pictures. So, this will take a while - to choose from, to edit, to upload here, to add the right captions and the more interesting stories. But patience, it will happen...
Day I - Larnaka & Around
Some Text Here.
From the airport we went to see the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque. We were welcomed by a crowd of friendly cats of all colors and sizes. This beauty was among them, and fluffy.
One of the cats even followed us inside the mosque and no one seemed to care. :)
While wondering around Larnaka, we found many such decrepit-yet-pretty entrances.
Another capture along the streets we wandered through.
Apparently, the city of Larnaka keeps all the New Israeli Shekels in the sewers.
The flags were possibly a leftover from the Cyprian Independence Day [1st of October].
Day II - Yeroskipou & Paphos
Some Text Here.
So Yeroskipou is like THE place for getting your "cyprus delights": a bunch of small family stores line the main street and you just need to choose one. We chose the one that also said "Factory -->", and they had water turtles. :)
At said family factory we were shown the different stages of the candy making. Very nice people! After tasting almost every variety they had (more than 20 I think) they even invited us for coffee.
Paphos is full of old churches and stuff (well, like all the island really). This one was mostly in ruins, but still big and impressive.
Day IV - Troodos Too
Some Text Here.
Did you notice the cats theme by now? ;) These two ladies greated us near the waterfall of the Calendonian Trail.
